BRISTOL, Tenn. – David Rampy added yet another win to his resume while Matt Hoover led a list of first time winners this weekend for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Thunder Valley Bristol Dragway.

Rampy, Piedmont, Ala., faced off with Glen Treadwell, Sorrento, Fla., in a battle of heavyweights as the pair have 61 Lucas Oil divisional wins between them. Treadwell left early with a red light while Rampy recorded a .002-second reaction time, running his '32 roadster out to a 7.412 second pass at 178.80 mph for the win.

Hoover, the lone home state winner from Adamsville, Tenn., captured his first NHRA win running 10.257 seconds on his 10.25 dial in Super Stock over Joe Tysinger, Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

Joining Hoover as first time winners were Danny Waters in Super Comp, Richard Payne in Super Street; Robert Houston in the Hickory Enclosed Trailers Top Dragster, and Shawn Morrow in Davis Golf Cart Top Sportsman.
