Sunday

In the final results from Pacific Raceways and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Chris Demke, Tujunga, Calif., and Sean Bellemeur, Placentia, Calif., took home the wins in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car, respectively.

Demke came from the No. 3 qualifying position and worked his way through the field, running 5.294 seconds at 273.55 mph in his final round victory over No. 1 qualifier Garrett Bateman, Albany, Ore., who and an identical 5.294 at 271.41. Demke's .037 second reaction time proved to be the difference.

Bellemeur faced off against Randy Parker, Puyallup, Wash., and posted a winning run of 5.597 seconds, 259.41 mph in his '06 Monte Carlo. Both drivers left together but Bellemeur made a strong pass while Parker, slowed to an 8.486 second, 131.51 mph lap for his runner up finish.

Two series hitters faced off in the final of Comp Eliminator with Jeff Lane and Justin Lamb going to battle in a close race from start to finish. In the end it was Lane, North Bend, Wash., taking the win in his '10 Cobalt. Lamb, Henderson, Nev., also advanced to the final in Super Stock where he met up with Alan Falcone, Olympia, Wash. Lamb took the starting line advantage but was unable to run down Falcone and his '05 Cavalier. Falcone won with a lap of 9.271, 142.42.

In the RH Racecars Top Sportsman, Don Sefton and Lee Goranson were just .003 seconds apart at the start but Sefton was better at the strip, taking the win with his '00 S-10 in 7.685 seconds at 175.64 mph.

The NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series was also in action at Pacific Raceways this weekend with Janette Thornley, Mocksville, N.C., taking the win in Pro Fuel over Dennis Fisher. The win moves Thornley closer to Fisher in the point's battle as the pair sit one and two in the standings.

Other winners in the Lucas Oil Series were Tommy Gaynor, Vancouver, Wash., over Jerry Stein in Stock; Brian Preszler, Kennewick, Wash., beat Jerry Dean, Olathe, Kan., in Super Comp; Todd Sims, Puyallup, Wash., upended Justin Sibley, Puyallup, Wash., in Super Street; and Mike MacBrair, Napa, Calif., took out Robert McMahan, Lodi, Calif., in the Rig Rentals Top Dragster class.

Also winning in the Harley-Davidson Series were Lance Bonham, Sunnyvale, Calif., in Pro Gas; Charles Robbins, Puyallup, Wash., in Hot Street; William Rowe, Hellentown, Pa., won in both Draggin' Bagger and Screamin'Eagle Performance; and Don DePeel, Gladstone, Ore., won in the Sportsman Motorcycle presented by Harley-Davidson.

Pacific Raceways also ran their Pro classes with Joel Dalke taking the win.

Racing was stopped on Sunday night prior to the final rounds in Super Gas and Super Pro due to local curfews. The Super Gas final will be run at the next Lucas Oil event in Woodburn, Ore., with Mike Shannon taking on Dave Kelly.  The final for Super Pro will see has not been rescheduled but will see Dave Jackson take on the winner of the semifinal matchup between Nick Axtman and Casey Depeel.

Northwest Division racers head to Woodburn Dragstrip, Woodburn, Ore. for their next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, Sept. 18-20.

Saturday

KENT, Wash. – Racers in the Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car classes made final qualifying runs today that set their fields for Sunday's eliminations for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Regional presented by Les Schwab Tires.  The top eight racers in each class will go into eliminations beginning on Sunday at noon 9:15 a.m.

The event is the fifth of six in the NHRA Northwest Division with racers earning points toward national, regional and divisional championships as well as a chance at a share of the year-end purse of more than $500,000.  Other classes include Comp Eliminator, RH Racecars Top Sportsman Series, Rig Rentals Top Dragster Series that took to the track on Friday and will conclude on Sunday with final eliminations and the winner's circle celebration. 

Gates open on Sunday at 8 a.m.  Racing begins at 9:15 a.m.  Tickets for the event are $20 for adults, children 6-12 are $5 per day and kids 5 and under are free with a paid adult.  For more information call Pacific Raceways (253) 639-5927 or visit www.pacificraceways.com.

KENT, Wash. – Racing kicked off today for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Regional presented by Les Schwab Tires, the fifth of six in the NHRA Northwest Division where drivers will earn points leading to national, regional and divisional championships

The 270 mph Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car classes highlight the event making their initial qualifying run today, followed by a pair on Saturday which will set their fields for Sunday's eliminations.

The division's RH Racecars Top Sportsman Series, Rig Rentals Top Dragster Series and Comp Eliminator classes also made a single run today and will make final qualifying passes on Saturday at 11:30 and 3:00 p.m.  Super Stock, Super Gas and the rest of the classes in competition ran qualifying and time trials today, which will continue tomorrow, followed by early rounds of eliminations and final eliminations on Sunday. 

Gates open at 7 a.m. on Saturday with final qualifying and time trials set to begin at 9:15 a.m. and Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars will qualify at noon and 5:30 p.m.

KENT, Wash. – The Lucas Oil Regional presented by Tires Les Schwab will take place at Pacific Raceways on August 21-23. The event is one of 44 scheduled across the country where drivers earn points leading to divisional, regional and national championships as well as a chance at a share of the year-end purse of more than $519,000. Categories include Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Comp Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. The division's RH Racecars Top Sportsman Series, Rig Rentals Top Dragster Series and the Sportsman Motorcycle Series presented by Harley-Davidson will run in conjunction with the event as will the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series featuring the Pro Fuel class.

Gates open at 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sunday at 8 a.m. Qualifying and time trials are at 9:15 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Comp Eliminator qualify Friday at 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 3p.m. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car qualify Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at noon and 5:30 p.m.  Eliminations begin Saturday with Top Dragster at 6 p.m. and continue Sunday at 9:15 a.m. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car run round 1 at noon on Sunday.

Tickets for the Pacific Raceways event are $20 each day for adults. Children ages 6-12 are $5 each day. Children 5 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.  All tickets include a Pit Pass.

BONUS  PROGRAMS:
NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES POINTS FUND
: a $519,000 point fund from Lucas Oil, which will be shared by 2015 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series divisional, regional and national champions. Regional awards include $10,000 each to the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car champions with Divisional awards of $3,000 to the champions in both Competition and Super Stock; $2,000 each to the champions in Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. The seven national champions will share a bonus of $135,000.

JEGS ALLSTARS: The best of the best from each of NHRA's seven divisions will compete for a share of the $124,000 point fund from Jegs High Performance. The 2016 Jegs Allstars event will culminate a year-long points battle between drivers in each of NHRA's Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series' eight classes as well as Top Sportsman and Top Dragster. The top points earner in each category will qualify to represent his/her division at the 2016 Jegs Allstars. Points are based on in-division races only.

The winning division and regional teams will share $25,000 and individual awards include $7,000 each to the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car champions, $6,000 to champions in Comp Eliminator and Super Stock, $5,000 to Top Sportsman and Top Dragster champions, and $4,500 to the Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street champions. Runners-up in all categories will earn $2,000 apiece. Each Allstars competitor will also receive a share of a $25,000 towing fund to get to the event.

Event sponsor, Jegs High Performance, is offering a "double up" bonus to Jegs Allstars participants. Any 2016 Jegs Allstars champion who also wins the national event will have his/her Allstars prize doubled.

NHRA HARLEY-DAVIDSON DRAG RACING SERIES: Run in conjunction with the Lucas Oil Series, classes include Top Fuel Harley, Pro Fuel, Pro Gas, Draggin' Bagger, Street Pro, Hot Street, and an Index Class. The series posts an event purse of nearly $20,000 with a total series purse of more than $200,000.

RH RACECARS TOP SPORTSMAN SERIES: The Northwest Division RH Racecars Top Sportsman Series, run in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, is an opportunity for competitors in the Top Sportsman class to earn points toward divisional championships. The $3,500 champions' purse will be paid to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place points finishers.

RIG RENTALS TOP DRAGSTER SERIES: The Northwest Division Top Dragster Series, run in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, is an opportunity for competitors in the Northwest division's Top Dragster class to earn points toward divisional championships. The $3,500 champions' purse will be paid to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place points finishers.

NHRA SPORTSMAN MOTORCYCLE SERIES presented by HARLEY-DAVIDSON: The NHRA Sportsman Motorcycle Series presented by Harley-Davidson, run in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, is an opportunity for competitors in NHRA's Sportsman Motorcycle class to earn points toward divisional championships. The $14,000 champions' purse posted by Harley-Davidson will be paid to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place points finishers in NHRA divisions that host Sportsman Motorcycles.
