MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Nine racers made their way to the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series winners circle Saturday night at Montgomery Motorsports Park including the red hot Kevin Brannon of Boiling Springs, S.C.

With his third Southeast win of the year, Brannon sits atop the division as well as the national point standings in Super Comp. With a string of great reaction times throughout eliminations, Brannon got off the line first against Tyler Caheely, Rock Spring, Ga., to secure the win in the final round double breakout.

Randy Daniels, Grantsboro, N.C., raced to the Comp Eliminator title out of the No.2 qualifying position with a pass of 8.952 seconds at 146.22 mph over Van Puckett of Monroe, Ga. This marks Daniels second victory of the season.  Nicholas Morris, Louisville, Ky., got off the line first in the Super Stock final but went too quick on his dial securing the win for Jeff Adkinson of Damascus, Ga.  Jeff Hairrington, Kathleen, Ga., wheeled his '14 Mustang to a winning lap of 10.209 seconds at 128.70 mph for his second Stock win of the year when he defeated Ricky Pennington, Gardendale, Ala., in the final.

Steven Furr, Harrisburg, N.C., used a holeshot to pick up the Super Gas win with a 9.918 second, 147.05 mph pass over Lauren Freer, Mooresville, N.C. Freer also scored a runner up finish in Top Dragster and was last week's winner at Rockingham Dragway. Furr grabbed his first Super Gas win of the year to go along with his two wins in Top Dragster. Super Street No.1 qualifier Travis Bryant, Bowman, Ga., powered his way through the field to grab the win over Tony Morris, Winter Gardens, Fla. In addition to the Super Street victory, Bryant also scored the 11.00 Index win when Glenn Newmans, Alachua, Fla., went red in the final.

Sandy Wilkins, Mount Ulla, N.C., added to her Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals win last month when she knocked out Bruce Duncan, Crawfordville, Fla., in the Davis Golf Carts Top Sportsman final. Wilkins posted a 6.774 second, 194.21 mph pass to defeat Duncan's 7.713, 177.69 runner up finish. Cameron Manuel, Winston-Salem, N.C., secured his second divisional Hickory Enclosed Trailer Sales Top Dragster win over Lauren Freer with a pass of 7.096 seconds at 184.27 mph.
