RISING SUN, Md. – In the final results from Cecil County Dragway and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, two New Jersey racers Tom Stalba, Williamstown, N.J., and Frank Aragona, Freehold, N.J., took home the wins in Super Comp and Comp Eliminator respectively.

Stalba, worked his way through the field and ran 8.909 seconds at 165.52 mph in his final round victory over Lee Ream, Narvon, Pa., who clocked in at 8.907 seconds, 171.49 mph. Stalba and Ream had almost identical E.T's but Stalba had the better run and received the final round win as with his third trophy of the weekend. On Friday, the race that was postponed due to rain at Atco Dragway earlier this year, was completed at Cecil County Dragway where Stalba advancing to the final round in both Super Comp and Super Gas. He won both of them, then the Super Comp final on Sunday bringing his total win and NHRA Wally trophy count to three for the weekend.

Aragona faced off against Thomas Miller, Nottingham, Pa., and posted a winning run of 8.970 seconds, 137.96 mph. Miller drove to a 7.607 second, 176.44 mph lap for his runner up finish. From start to finish, Aragona had a better run over Miller. This win for Aragona made it his second divisional win of the year. He claimed his first divisional win at the New England Dragway in July.

Another racer taking home the Wally this weekend in Super Gas was Troy Coughlin Jr., Delaware, Ohio. Coughlin faced off against Jason Kenny, Kutztown, Pa., and posted a winning run of 9.888 seconds, 165.38 mph. Kenny had a runner-up finish of 9.887 seconds, 160.16 mph. They both had almost identical ET's but Coughlin had the better run down the track to take the win. This is Coughlin's first divisional event win of the year.

Other racers visiting the winner's circle this weekend were Tom Sheehan, Belle Vernon, Pa., in Super Stock; Joe De Marzo, Mahopac, N.Y., in Stock Eliminator; and Mike Good, Nottingham, Pa., in Super Street. In the division's MXI/Magnaflux Top Sportsman series presented by Select Performance it was Michael Cerro, Mineola, N.Y., taking the win while Michael Galofaro, Lincoln Park, N.J., won in the MXI/Magnaflux Top Dragster series presented by Select Performance. Also competing at this event was the Ultimax Pro Stock Snowmobile series and Tiina Duncanson, Acton, Ont., took home the win.

In the final results from the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series, Damian Cownden, Victoria, B.C., and Johnny Vickers, Millers Check, NC., took the wins in Top Fuel Harley and Pro Fuel Harley respectively. The event was held this past weekend in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.

Cownden, worked his way through the field and ran 6.262 seconds at 226.66 mph in his final round victory over Doug Horne, Aberdeen, Md., who clocked in at 6.355 seconds, 206.73 mph. Cownden and Horne had pretty close reaction times but Cownden was off the line first. Cownden had the better ET and speed down the track to take the win in Top Fuel Harley.

Vickers faced off against Janette Thornley, Sacramento, Calif., and posted a winning run of 7.25 seconds, 174.87 mph on his '10 Hawaya Harley.  Thornley drove to a 7.396 second, 171.42 mph lap for his runner up finish. Vickers had the better light off the line and better run down the track to take the Pro Fuel Harley win. Vickers has had back to back wins as he received his last win at National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio.

Another racer visiting the winners circle this weekend was Charley Douglass, Staunton, Va.,who took the win in Street Pro Harley. Douglass faced off against Bruce Croneberfer III, Cressona, Pa., and posted a winning run of 8.775 seconds, 156.53 mph. Douglass also reached the final in Hot Street Harley where he faced off against Troy Young, Wirtz, Va., but Young had the better run down the track and Douglass took the runner up finish. Young posted a winning run of 9.872 seconds, 136.95 mph.  

Other racers visiting the winner's circle this weekend were Marc Ingwersen, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, in Pro Gas Harley; David Cartwright, Evansville, Ind., in Draggin Bagger; and Brad Croneberger, Valley View, Pa., in SEP Harley.

Next up for the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series is Mission Raceway Park and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, September 5-7.

RISING SUN, Md. - Cecil County Dragway to host the NHRA Northeast division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series on August 15-17. The event is one of 43 scheduled across the country where drivers earn points leading to divisional and national championships as well as a chance at a share of the year-end purse of more than $519,000. Categories include Comp Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street.  The division's MXI/Magnaflux Top Sportsman and Top Dragster Series' presented by Select Performance and Pro Stock Snowmobile will run in conjunction with the event as well as the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series.

Gates at Cecil County Dragway open at 8 a.m. each day. Qualifying and time trials begin Friday at 9 a.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Comp Eliminator will qualify twice on Friday, at 2 and 6 p.m., and Saturday at 10:30 with eliminations at noon. The MXI/Magnaflux / Select Performance Top Dragster and Top Sportsman will qualify at 4 p.m. on Friday and at noon and 4 p.m. on Saturday followed by round one at 6 p.m. Harley-Davidson Series will qualify at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Friday and run all three rounds of eliminations on Saturday starting at 3:30 p.m. Pro Stock Snowmobile qualifies at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and run all rounds of eliminations on Saturday beginning at 2:45 p.m.

Eliminations will continue Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The MXI/Magnaflux/Select Performance Top Dragster and Top Sportsman series are set to run round two at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Tickets at Cecil County Dragway for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event are $20 Friday, $20 Saturday and $15 Sunday. Children 7 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.

NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES POINTS FUND
: a $519,000 point fund from Lucas Oil, which will be shared by 2014 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series divisional, regional and national champions. Regional awards include $10,000 each to the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car champions with Divisional awards of $3,000 to the champions in both Competition and Super Stock; $2,000 each to the champions in Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. The seven national champions will share a bonus of $135,000.

JEGS ALLSTARS: The best of the best from each of NHRA's seven divisions will compete for a share of the $124,000 point fund from Jegs High Performance. The 2015 Jegs Allstars event will culminate a year-long points battle between drivers in each of NHRA's Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series' eight classes as well as Top Sportsman and Top Dragster. The top points earner in each category will qualify to represent his/her division at the 2015 Jegs Allstars. Points are based on in-division races only.

The winning regional and division teams will share $25,000 and individual awards include $7,000 each to the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car champions, $6,000 to champions in Comp Eliminator and Super Stock, $5,000 to Top Sportsman and Top Dragster champions, and $4,500 to the Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street champions. Runners-up in all categories will earn $2,000 apiece. Each Allstars competitor will also receive a share of a $25,000 towing fund to get to the event.

Event sponsor, Jegs High Performance, is offering a "double up" bonus to Jegs Allstars participants. Any 2015 Jegs Allstars champion who also wins the national event will have his/her Allstars prize doubled.
