Sunday

FALLON, Nev.Justin Lamb raced to a rare double at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series this weekend at Top Gun Raceway winning in both the Comp Eliminator and the Super Gas categories.

Lamb first faced off with Aaron Kinard, San Marcos, Calif., in Super Gas and recorded a perfect reaction time in his '68 Camaro to Kinard who left early with a foul start in his '63 Corvette.   Lamb returned to the starting line to meet up with Randy Jones in the Comp final taking the win by about 13 inches driving a '10 Cobalt to an 8.977 second, 149.15 mph pass.  Jones, Monarch Beach, Calif., clocked in at 8.905, 149.65 in his losing effort.

The Super Stock title went home to Stockton, Calif., as Dennis Paz held off Larry Scarth, Manhatten Beach, Calif., with a lap of 11.933, 111.39 mph while Larry Gilley, Hilmar, Calif., went 106.59 mph in his '69 Dart to beat Steve Wann, Modesto, Calif., in Stock Eliminator.

Tom Medlin captured his third NHRA Wally trophy in a row in the Sportsman Motorcycle Series presented by Harley Davidson with a pass of 148.36 mph in 8.528 seconds against Jay Thompson, Phoenix, and Joe Roubicek grabbed his second in as many races in the Hughes Performance Top Dragster class.  The Westlake Village, Calif., racer covered the quarter mile in 6.975 seconds, 195.05 mph to down Tony Jardino, San Dimas, Calif., at 6.997, 192.17.

Rounding out this weekend's Lucas Oil winners at Top Gun were Richard Okerman, Torrance, Calif., in Top Sportsman over Wayne Newman, Lancaster, Calif.; Val Torres, Valinda, Calif., beat Matt Constant, Stockton, Calif., in Super Comp; and Bill Gee, Silverton, Ore., defeated Joel Fuller, Sparks, Nev., in Super Street.

Pacific Division racers head to Infineon Raceway for the next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, July 20-22.  Top Gun Raceway will host their Five Dollar Friday on June 29, followed by their Summit ET/JR Series/Allstar/ ET Challenge event on Saturday, June 30

FALLON, Nev. – NHRA Pacific division racers are at Top Gun Raceway for this weekend's action in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.  The event is the fourth of six divisional events in the 2012 season where competitors will earn points toward both national and divisional championships.  Racers made qualifying and time trial runs today with racers in Comp, Super Stock, Top Sportsman and the Hughes Performance Top Dragster classes highlighting the day's action and setting the fields for tomorrow's eliminations.  The event also includes a match race between the Beast Jet Funny Car and the Nevada Rattler AA/Fuel Altered Nitro roadster and the 200 mph Western Fuel Altereds.

FALLON, Nev. - Top Gun Raceway will host the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Pacific Division, June 8-10, 2012.  The event is one of 43 scheduled across the country where drivers earn points leading to divisional, regional and national championships as well as a chance at a share of the year-end purse of more than $519,000. The event will feature drivers in nine categories, including the division's 200 mph Hughes Performance Top Dragster Series, Top Sportsman Series, and Sportsman Motorcycle Series presented by Harley Davidson.

Top Gun Raceway will host the opening day Test and Tune from noon – 6 p.m. on Friday.  Gates at Top Gun Raceway open at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.  Qualifying and time trials start at 8 a.m. Saturday. Top Dragster, Comp Eliminator and Top Sportsman will all have three qualifying sessions scheduled for 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.  Eliminations start Sunday at 8 a.m.

BONUS PROGRAMS:
NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES POINTS FUND
: a $519,000 point fund from Lucas Oil, which will be shared by 2012 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series divisional, regional and national champions. Regional awards include $10,000 each to the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car champions with Divisional awards of $3,000 to the champions in both Competition and Super Stock; $2,000 each to the champions in Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. The seven national champions will share a bonus of $135,000.

JEGS ALLSTARS: The best of the best from each of NHRA's seven divisions will compete for a share of the $119,000 point fund from Jegs High Performance. The 2012 Jegs Allstars event will culminate a year-long points battle between drivers in each of NHRA's Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series' eight classes as well as Top Sportsman and Top Dragster. The top points earner in each category will qualify to represent his/her division at the 2012 Jegs Allstars. Points are based on in-division races only.

The winning division's team will share $20,000 and individual awards include $7,000 each to the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car champions, $6,000 to champions in Comp Eliminator and Super Stock, $5,000 to Top Sportsman and Top Dragster champions, and $4,500 to the Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street champions. Runners-up in all categories will earn $2,000 apiece. Each Allstars competitor will also receive a share of a $25,000 towing fund to get to the event.

Event sponsor, Jegs High Performance, is offering a "double up" bonus to Jegs Allstars participants. Any 2012 Jegs Allstars champion who also wins the national event will have his/her Allstars prize doubled.

NHRA SPORTSMAN MOTORCYCLE SERIES presented by HARLEY DAVIDSON: The NHRA Sportsman Motorcycle Series presented by Harley Davidson, run in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, is an opportunity for competitors in NHRA's Sportsman Motorcycle class to earn points toward divisional championships. The $14,000 champions' purse posted by Harley Davidson will be paid to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place points finishers in NHRA divisions that host Sportsman Motorcycles.

PACIFIC DIVISION TOP SPORTSMAN SERIES: The Pacific Division Top Sportsman Series, runs in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, is an opportunity for competitors in the Pacific division's Top Sportsman class to earn points toward divisional championships. The $3,500 champions' purse will be paid to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place points finishers.
